In winter the breathtaking views are at their clearest, and
on a fine day it is possible to see Rangiwahia, Mt.Ngaruhoe,
Mt.Ruapehu, Mt.Taranaki, Kapiti Island and the South Island,
all from one viewpoint.
You might even be lucky enough to find snow outside your door
when you wake in the morning!
In summer a restful hammock and hanging chair provide cool
places in the shade to read a book with a cold drink in your
hand.
There are bushwalks, a chuckling mountain stream, an awesome
giant rimu tree and if you are energetic and sure of foot,
a challenging waterfall.
There are sheep to see, and at night the lights of Feilding
and Palmerston North twinkle in the distance.
The vast front lawn is a perfect place for kite flying and
the sunsets are well worth photographing.
At certain times of the year you can watch topdressing planes
operate from the airstrip.
Deerstalking, if you have a DOC permit, is excellent, with
the Ruahine Range and Forest Park at your back door.
